Richter calls out MPP Graydon Smith over MNR

Ontario Greens Deputy Leader Matt Richter is calling out Minister of Natural Resources, and local MPP Graydon Smith after the Auditor General’s 2024 report revealed four violations of the Environmental Bill of Rights.
The report highlights that Smith’s ministry led in outdated consultation notices, with nearly two-thirds of them being overdue.
The report also says the minister’s office misrepresented environmental impacts, missed investigation deadlines, and misled the public about the consultation process.
Richter says these actions give the impression the government is either ignoring the rules or hiding information.
He also criticized the Ford government for spending over $103 million on partisan ads.
