Hydro One making progress on power outages
While Hydro One has made progress re-connecting customers to the grid, several thousand people remain without power this morning, mainly in the Bracebridge and Gravenhurst areas.
Hydro One says crews are working around the clock to restore power to customers affected by high winds and snowfall that began Friday evening.
Crews from across the province, along with contractors, have been mobilized to assist with restoration efforts.
The utility says heavy snow has caused tree limbs to fall on power lines, leading to widespread outages.
Road closures are also making access to the hardest-hit areas challenging.
Once damage is assessed, estimated restoration times will be provided for each outage.
