LOB adopts 5.99% tax increase for 2025
At a special council meeting on held yesterday, the Township of Lake of Bays Council approved the 2025 Operating and Capital Budget.
With a tax rate increase of 5.99%, property owners will see an additional $12.72 for every $100,000 of assessed value, marking the lowest dollar-amount increase in Muskoka.
Over the last decade, the township has maintained an average annual increase of just 2.65%.
Key investments for 2025 include a $650,000 pumper truck for Fire Services, $2.2 million for road construction, and $1.7 million for the renovation of the Dwight Community Centre. The budget also addresses deferred infrastructure needs, with $4.1 million in debt financing and $2.1 million from reserves.
