Police arrest woman on scooter for DUI
Huntsville OPP have arrested two individuals in separate impaired driving incidents, one involving a scooter.
Police say that on Saturday, officers responded to reports of a woman on a mobility scooter driving into oncoming traffic while drinking alcohol on King William Street.
A 61-year-old woman was charged with impaired operation and refusal to provide a breath sample.
Then on Sunday, police found a vehicle stuck in a snowbank on Main Street West. The driver, a 62-year-old woman, was arrested with over three times the legal alcohol limit.
Her vehicle was impounded, and she received a 90-day license suspension.
Police remind the public that any motorized vehicle—including scooters and e-bikes—falls under impaired driving laws.
