Huntsville celebrates Truth & Reconciliation Day
The Huntsville Public Library, the Town of Huntsville, and Hope Arises Project are inviting the community to participate in the 4th Annual Orange Shirt Day activities on Monday, September 30th in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honors the tragic history and healing journey of residential school survivors.
The day kicks off with a march at 10:45 a.m. from the River Mill Park, featuring banners representing the Gifts of the Seven Grandfathers. Opening ceremonies will take place at noon
Later that evening, a screening of the award-winning film *The Nature of Healing: Voices of Mohawk Institute Survivors* will take place at the Algonquin Theatre.
The town is encouraging the community to wear orange to honor survivors and the children who never returned home.
