Bracebridge hosts celebration for Paralympian
Last Thursday, Santa’s Village in Bracebridge hosted a special celebration for Paralympian Mary Jibb, who will be competing at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. The 17-year-old Bracebridge swimmer, who has been training for ten years, was honored by family, friends, and community members.
Mary, who specializes in backstroke and will compete in four events, started swimming as physiotherapy after a stroke affected her right side when she was five.
The event included a “Best Wishes and Good Luck” ceremony with comments from Mayor Rick Maloney and support from the local fire department, EMS, and OPP.
